Putting up disciplined performance in all three departments of the game, Odisha beat Jharkhand by 24 runs to register their second win in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy East Zone T20 League at Tripura Institute of Technology ground in Agartala today. Electing to bat, Odisha made 153 for seven with the help of decent contributions by Govind Poddar, captain Biplab Samantaray, opener Bikash Pati and Aravinda Singh. Rahul Shukla was most successful Jharkhand bowler, bagging four wickets for 30 runs. Chasing the competitive total, Jharkhand could make 129 for seven in the stipulated overs.
With this win, Odisha kept their hopes alive to qualify for the knock-out phase. They now occupy the second position in the five-team East Zone league table with eight points from three outings. But the defeat, their second in three matches, pushed Jharkhand down to the fourth position.
